Buniyad Abhiyan (Motivation to Brick Kiln Owners on adoption of Zig Zag Technology and promotion of accountability towards securing rights of workers). A process of Collective action of Brick Kiln Owners Association, Brick Kiln Workers forum, Social Workers/Organisations, Media, Govt Department and Other Stake holder is on the way. |
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS:
- A total of 1200 Adolescent girls/boys from Tribal area of Naugarh Block of District Chandauli completed primary education with necessary life skills at Education Centers run by PEPUS.
- A total of 1309 Youth and 1772 Adolescent girls/boys completed/attained the training programme for alternative livelihood options.
- A total of 206 SHGs have been formed comprising 2709 Women members. Out of these 2709 members 896 members are Directly Engaged in Income Generation Activities.
- A total of 4300 workers engaged with Brick Kiln related works and with Building as well as other Construction work have been linked with Building and Other Construction Workers Board (BoCW), Uttar Pradesh.
- PEPUS has been able to facilitate a federation of Brick Kiln and Construction labourers, namely Nirman Shramik Suraksha Sangh (NSSS). The NSSS is extending its services of counseling and Problem resolution, with Brick Kiln workers and Construction labourers including Legal support. A total of 876 Cases of nonpayment of wages were registered among which 472 Cases have been resolved. Labourers got compensation amount of Rs. 45, 07,092.00 or say in words Fourty Five Lakhs, Seven Thousand and Ninety two only (till now) through our interventions.
